Keith Hernandez (born October 20, 1953) played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1974–1983), the New York Mets (1983–1989) and the Cleveland Indians (1990). During his career, Hernandez was a 5 time All-Star (1979, 1980, 1984, 1986, 1987), a 2 time World Series champion (1982, 1986), the NL MVP (1979) and an 11 time Gold Glove Award (1978–1988), a 2 time Silver Slugger Award (1980, 1984), the NL batting champion (1979). He is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame, and the New York Mets No. 17 retired was retired in his honor and he is a member of the New York Mets Hall of Fame.
