Here is an original 1954 Topps baseball card of Ernie Banks. Ernest Banks (January 31, 1931 – January 23, 2015) was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame with the Class of 1977. During his career he was a 14 time All-Star (1955–1960, 1961²–1962², 1965, 1967, 1969), won 2 NL MVP (1958, 1959) and a Gold Glove Award (1960). He was a 2 time NL home run leader (1958, 1960) and a 2 time NL RBI leader (1958, 1959). The Chicago Cubs retired his No. 14 jersey number and is a member of the Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame and was honored as a member of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. He also served int he U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. The color is nice on this popular card of "Mr. Cub" rookie card. The colors are still nice with edge wear. The card was professionally graded by the PSA Company and they rated it as 3, which stands for "Very Good" Condition. It is encapsulated in their holder for display and preservation.
