Here is a piece of history signed by one of the men that played in the Negro League of Baseball. This baseball is nicely signed in ink by John Jordan "Buck" O'Neil Jr. (November 13, 1911 – October 6, 2006) was a first baseman and manager in the Negro American League, mostly with the Kansas City Monarchs. After his playing days, he worked as a scout and became the first African American coach in Major League Baseball. During his career, he played for the Memphis Red Sox (1937) and the Kansas City Monarchs (1938–1943, 1946–1948) and was a 2 time All-Star (1942–1943) and a Negro World Series champion (1942). He is a member of the Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022 as an executive. The baseball is accompanied by a modern xerox image of O'Neil in his uniform.
