Here is an authentic card from the T-207 set of baseball cards. The T207 Brown Background baseball series were distributed in 1907 via various tobacco brands, including Broadleaf, Cycle, Napoleon and Recruit. Consisting of 207 cards, each collectible measures 1-1/2" by 2-5/8" and features a distinct player portrayal (with the obvious brown background) framed by a thin white border with the athlete’s last name, the name his home team’s city and league identified within a small rectangle at the bottom edge. Card backs carry various tobacco advertisements. This one is from the Recruit brand of cigarettes. It has the image of Paddy Livingston of the Cleveland Naps, later the Indians. Patrick Joseph Livingston (January 14, 1880 – September 19, 1977) was a Major League Baseball catcher who played for seven seasons. He played for the Cleveland Blues in 1901, the Cincinnati Reds in 1906, the Philadelphia Athletics from 1909 to 1911, the Cleveland Naps in 1912, and the St. Louis Cardinals in 1917. Livingston was the last surviving player of the inaugural year for the American League, 1901.[1] At the time of his death, he was the oldest living former major league player. The card has been professionally graded by the PSA Company and they have rated it as a 1, which stands for Poor but authentic Condition. It is encapsulated in their holder for display and preservation.
