Chicago Cubs Ron Santo Embossed Store Model Baseball Glove by Wilson
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a neat and affordable piece of baseball memorabilia. This is a store model baseball glove that was made by the Wilson Company. The companies would use the name of a popular baseball player to help the gloves sell. This one was made using the name of Ron Santo. Ronald Edward Santo (February 25, 1940 – December 3, 2010) was an American Major League Baseball (MLB) third baseman who played for the Chicago Cubs from 1960 through 1973 and the Chicago White Sox in 1974. In 1990, Santo became a member of the Cubs broadcasting team providing commentary for Cubs games on WGN radio and remained at that position until his death in 2010.[3] In 1999, he was selected to the Cubs All-Century Team. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012. You can tell that the owner used it but it wasn't abused. This glove is one that I bought when I was a child. It has spent the last 35 years on a wall at my parents' house. The leather has stiffened over the years but it still displays well as you can see. This is a chance at a neat glove!
