Baseball Gloves

Jimmy Piersall Embossed Store Model Baseball Glove by Wilson
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a neat and affordable piece of baseball memorabilia. This is a store model baseball glove that was made by the Wilson Company. The companies would use the name of a popular baseball player to help the gloves sell. This one was made using the name of Jimmy Piersall. James Anthony Piersall (November 14, 1929 – June 3, 2017) was an American baseball center fielder who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for five teams, from 1950 through 1967. Piersall was best known for his well-publicized battle with bipolar disorder that became the subject of a book and a film, Fear Strikes Out. During his career, Piersall was a 2 time All-Star (1954, 1956), 2 time Gold Glove Award (1958, 1961) and is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame. You can tell that the owner used it but it wasn't abused. This glove is one that I bought when I was a child. It has spent the last 35 years on a wall at my parents' house. The leather has stiffened over the years but it still displays well as you can see. This is a chance at a neat glove!
