Here is an original leather baseball glove that was made by the Denkert Company. This is the store model glove of Gil Hodges of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Gilbert Ray Hodges (born Hodge; April 4, 1924 – April 2, 1972) was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame with the class of 1972. Hodges was an 8 time All-Star (1949–1955, 1957) and a 3 time World Series champion (1955, 1959, 1969). He also received 3 Gold Glove Awards (1957–1959) and Hit 4 home runs in one game on August 31, 1950. The Los Angeles Dodgers retired his No. 14 jersey and so did the New York Mets and he is a member of the New York Mets Hall of Fame. This glove is one that I bought when I was a child. It has spent the last 35 years on a wall at my parents' house. The leather has stiffened over the years but it still displays well as you can see.
