Here is an original card from the 1941 Play Ball set of Baseball Cards. This is #64 which is of Bobby Doeer of the Boston Red Sox. He was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame with the class of 1986. Robert Pershing Doerr (April 7, 1918 – November 13, 2017) played for the Boston Red Sox (1937–1944, 1946–1951) and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. During his career, Doeer was a 9 time All-Star (1941–1944, 1946–1948, 1950, 1951). The Boston Red Sox retired his No. 1 jersey number and he is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame. What makes this card special is that it is signed in in by the Hall of Famer, Bobby Doeer. This card was authenticated by the Beckett, BVG Company, and it is encapsulated in their casing for display and preservation.
