Here is a fine looking original baseball card #37 from the 1954 set from the famous Topps baseball card company. This one is of New York Yankee, Whitey Ford. Edward Charles "Whitey" Ford (October 21, 1928 – October 8, 2020) was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame with the class of 1974. Ford was a 10 time All-Star (1954–1956, 1958, 1959, 1960–1961², 1964) and a 6 time World Series champion (1950, 1953, 1956, 1958, 1961, 1962). Among his accolades were the Cy Young Award (1961), World Series MVP (1961) and was the 3 time AL wins leader (1955, 1961, 1963) and 2 time MLB ERA leader (1956, 1958). The New York Yankees retired his No. 16 jersey number and he is honored in the Monument Park. The card is very nice with vivid colors to accent the cool design. It has been professionally authenticated and graded by the PSA Company and they rated it as a 6, which represents a grade of Excellent to Mint condition. It is encapsulated in their holder for display and preservation.
