Here is an original 1951 Bowman set of baseball card #165. This is the card of the famous Theodore Samuel Williams (August 30, 1918 – July 5, 2002). Williams was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame with the Class of 1966. During his illustrious career, he was a 19 time All-Star (1940–1942, 1946–1951, 1953–1960²) and a 2 time AL MVP (1946, 1949). He won 2 Triple Crowns (1942, 1947) and was a 6 time AL batting champion (1941, 1942, 1947, 1948, 1957, 1958). Williams was the 4 time AL home run leader (1941, 1942, 1947, 1949) and the 4 time AL RBI leader (1939, 1942, 1947, 1949). He still holds the MLB record .482 career on-base percentage/ The Boston Red Sox had his No. 9 retired. He is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame as well as the San Diego Padres Hall of Fame. He was honored with being named a member of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team as well as the Major League Baseball All-Time Team. The color is nice on this popular card of the most famous Red Sox Player and the last man to bat over 400. It has been professionally graded by the S.G.C. Company. They have rated the card as a 1.5, which rates as Fair condition. It is encapsulated in their casing for display and preservation.
